Shum Yin Ping is passionate in music and dancing despite her visual impairment. She not only performed in different charity activities, but also become the instructor in vocal music and dancing, and the judge of singing contest. Yin Ping has achieved outstanding performance in various singing competitions, she was also the representation of Hong Kong to participate in “The 4th Asia Pacific Wataboshi Music Festival” in Australia. In 2011, she got the Merit Award in “Cross All Borders: Hong Kong Festival Showcasing New Performing Artists with Disabilities 2011” by ADA. Also in 2015, she was awarded the Most Outstanding Performer Award (Aged 21 or above) in ”Cross All Borders: Hong Kong Festival Showcasing New Performing Artists with Disabilities 2015” by ADA and the Champion (Solo group) of "Music in Darkness 2015: singing contest for visually impaired persons in Hong Kong” by Lions Club of Tuen Mun and The Hong Kong Society for the Blind.
